Ignition Coil Test (Legend)

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove ignition coil. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between primary terminals "A" and "B" of ignition coil. See Fig 1 .
  2. Resistance should be .9-1.1 ohms at 77°F (25°C). Replace coil if resistance is not within specification. Resistance value for secondary winding is not available.
