Retracting Test

Disconnect the battery from the starter body. If the pinion retracts immediately, it is working properly. See Fig 1 .

NOTE: The PCM memory must be reset after reconnecting battery. See appropriate COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURE article in GENERAL INFORMATION.
