Cylinder Identification Sensor

  1. Cylinder identification sensor is wrapped around No. 6 spark plug wire, near distributor cap. Visually inspect sensor and pick-up. Electrical contacts must be clean and tight. Ensure sensor plugs are not reversed. Plugs are color coded for identification.
  2. Ensure ignition is off. Unplug sensor connector. Check resistance across sensor connector terminals. See CYLINDER IDENTIFICATION SENSOR RESISTANCE  table. Connect ohmmeter between each sensor terminal and engine block. Ohmmeter should not show continuity. Replace sensor, if continuity exists.
