Replacing Ignition Key: Notes
WARNING:
Vehicles are equipped with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system. Before attempting any repairs involving steering column, instrument panel or related components, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
WARNING:
When locating White 2-pin ignition lock cylinder harness connector at base of steering column, do not confuse connector with Yellow 2-pin SIR connector, also located at base of steering column. See Figure

NOTE:
PASS-Key(R) II (VATS) Interrogator (J 35628-A) and Adapter (J 35628-95) are required in VERIFYING CORRECT KEY CODE
and DETERMINING BCM PROGRAMED KEY CODE
procedures.
