Starter Motor: Installation
- Connect battery positive feed wire to starter.
- Connect posi-lock starter solenoid connector.
- Jack engine up slightly to give more room to maneuver starter assembly.
- Install the starter.
- Install three bolts attaching starter to engine (Figure). Tighten all fasteners to the proper torque. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install three left engine mount mounting bolts to engine block.
- Install starter solenoid assembly from transmission housing. Position the starter to gain access to the Connector Positive Assurance (CPA) wiring connector.
- Lower vehicle.
- Connect the battery negative cable (Figure).
