Ignition Coil: Removal: 3.8L

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Unlock and disconnect the electrical connector from ignition coil. See Fig 1.
  3. Grasping the spark plug cable, twist the assembly 1/2 turn and pull the cable from the ignition coil.
  4. Remove the nuts from the mounting studs.
  5. Pull coil assembly straight up and off of mounting studs.
