Repair Procedures: Installation

NOTE:
  • If the Variable Force Solenoid valve (VFS) is dropped, do not reuse it.
  • When installing the Variable Force Solenoid valve (VFS), pay attention to the below instructions.

  1. Replace the Variable Force Solenoid valve (VFS) O-ring (A) with a new one and then apply engine oil to the new O-ring (A).

  2. Push the Variable Force Solenoid valve (VFS) until it reaches the end of the timing chain cover mounting face and then provisionally tighten the bolts.
  3. Tighten the Variable Force Solenoid valve (VFS) to the specified torque.
  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
