Throttle Switch (Metro M/T)
- With battery disconnected. Insert feeler gauge with a thickness of .012" (.3 mm) between throttle stop screw and throttle lever. Using an ohmmeter, ensure there is continuity between terminals "A" and "B" (idle switch). See Fig 1
. Ensure there is no continuity between terminals "B" and "C" (wide open switch), and "A" and "C".
- Insert feeler gauge with a thickness of .035" (.9 mm) between throttle stop screw and throttle lever. Ensure there is no continuity, between terminals "A" and "B" (idle switch), "B" and "C" (wide open switch), and "A" and "C".
- With throttle valve fully open, there should be no continuity between terminals "A" and "B" (idle switch), and "A" and "C". Terminals "B" and "C" (wide open switch) should show continuity.
- If results of test between terminals "A" and "B" (idle switch), is not to specification adjustment is possible. See ADJUSTMENTS
article. If other terminals tested do not meet testing specifications, replacement is necessary.
