Installation Procedure

  1. Install the hoses to the vehicle.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Connect the fitting from the power steering cooler inlet hose to the power steering gear

    Tighten:  Tighten the fittings to 28 N.m (20 lb ft).

  4. Install the clamp retaining power steering cooler outlet hose to the power steering pump.

  6. Install the power steering cooler to the radiator support.
  7. Install the inlet and outlet cooler hoses to the cooler. Verify that the O-Rings are in place

    Tighten:  Tighten the fittings to 28 N.m (20 lb ft).

  8. Install the power steering cooler mounting bolts. Do not forget to install the upper spacer.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts retaining the power steering cooler to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  9. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System .
  10. Inspect all the hose connections for leaks.
  11. Close the hood
