Possible Causes

Malfunction is detected when:

  1. ECM calculation function is malfunctioning.
  2. ECM EEP-ROM system is malfunctioning.
  3. ECM self shut-off system is malfunctioning.

Only possible cause is a faulty ECM. When malfunction "A" is detected, ECM will enter fail-safe mode, ECM stops electric throttle control actuation, and throttle valve is fixed at about 5 degrees by the return spring. ECM also deactivates ASCD operation.
