Removal & Installation: Starter

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove engine undercover.
  3. Disconnect "S" connector.
  4. Remove "B" terminal nut.
  5. Remove starter motor mounting bolt and nut. See Fig 1.
  6. Remove engine mount insulator bottom nuts, and lift up engine approximately 1.2 in. (30 mm) using transmission jack.
  7. Remove starter motor from under vehicle.
  8. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
