Vehicle Speed Sensor
- Connect circuit tester between ECU harness connector terminal No. 5 and ground. Disconnect speedometer cable at transmission end and turn inner cable slowly.
- If tester indicates continuity and open circuit alternately as cable is turned, speed sensor and circuit are operating normally. To test speed sensor, remove instrument assembly from dash.
- Connect circuit tester across terminals of connector at rear face of meter assembly. See Fig 1 . Turn inner shaft slowly and check that tester indicates continuity and open circuit alternately. If inoperative, speedometer must be replaced as assembly.
