Body Control Module Programming
If using the wiTECH 1 diagnostic scan tool and after installing a new Body Control Module (BCM), the wiTECH 1 diagnostic scan tool will be unable to identify the vehicle. Manual Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) entry into the diagnostic scan tool must be used to continue diagnostic scan tool communication.
Reference the module replacement guide for programming order when replacing the BCM Refer to MODULE REPLACEMENT GUIDE (RF-HUB, PCM, BCM, ESL) .
- After the BCM is replaced perform the "BCM Immobilizer Replace" routine located in the RFH misc. functions menu.
- Switch the ignition to the ON position. You should hear an audible chime.
- With the diagnostic scan tool, perform the following procedure in the BCM Miscellaneous Functions menu: Restore BCM PROXI Configuration.NOTE:
NOTE: The Restore BCM PROXI Configuration uses the VIN and sales code information from DealerCONNECT to reconfigure the vehicle. If using the wiTECH 1 diagnostic scan tool to perform the Restore BCM PROXI Configuration, the wiTECH 1 diagnostic scan tool will restart to begin a new diagnostic session with the vehicle. This will not occur when using the wiTECH 2.
- With the diagnostic scan tool, perform the following procedure in the RFH Miscellaneous Functions: BCM Immobilizer Replaced.
- If instructed by the diagnostic scan tool, run the following procedure in the BCM Miscellaneous Functions: PROXI Configuration Alignment.
Customer programmable features in the BCM may need to be reset back to the customers preferred settings.
