Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
  2. Disconnect the variable intake solenoid valve connector (A) and Vacuum hose (B).

  3. Remove the VIS valve mounting bolts (A).

    Variable intake solenoid valve bracket mounting bolt: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)

  4. Remove the VIS valve (A) after loosening the rod (B).
