Shift Paddle Switch: Inspection

  1. INSPECT SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH 
    1. Disconnect the switch wire connector from the transmission shift switch
    2. Measure the resistance between each terminal when the paddle shift is moved to each position.

      Standard Resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Paddle Shift Position Specified Condition
      1 (SUP) - 2 (ECC) Pull continuously "+" (Up shift) Below 1 Ω
      1 (SUP) - 2 (ECC) Release "+" (Up shift) 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (SDN) - 2 (ECC) Pull continuously "-" (Down shift) Below 1 Ω
      3 (SDN) - 2 (ECC) Release "-" (Down shift) 10 kΩ or higher

      If the resistance value is not as specified, replace the shift paddle switch.
