General Maintenance
- INSPECT STEERING LINKAGE
- Check the steering wheel free play (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
- Check the steering linkage for looseness or damage.
- Check that the tie rod ends do not have excessive play.
- Check that the dust seals and boots are not damaged.
- Check that the boot clamps are not loose.
- Check that the steering gear housing is not damaged.
- Check that the connectors are properly connected to the steering gear housing.
- INSPECT STEERING GEAR BOX (See INSPECTION )
- INSPECT BALL JOINT AND DUST COVER
- Inspect the front suspension upper arm assembly (See INSPECTION ).
- Inspect the front suspension lower arm assembly (See INSPECTION ).
- INSPECT DRIVE SHAFT BOOTS
- Check the drive shaft boots for loose clamps, grease leakage, kinks or damage.
- INSPECT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID
- Inspect the automatic transmission fluid and correct or replace as necessary (See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID ).
- INSPECT TRANSFER OIL
- Inspect the transfer oil (See TRANSFER OIL ).
- Replace the transfer oil as necessary (See REPLACEMENT ).
- INSPECT FRONT DIFFERENTIAL OIL LEVEL
- Check the front differential oil level (See REPLACEMENT ).
- INSPECT REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL
- Check the rear differential oil level (See REPLACEMENT ).
- REPLACE ACTIVE HEIGHT CONTROL SUSPENSION FLUID
- INSPECT SUSPENSION CONTROL ACCUMULATOR ASSEMBLY
- Inspect the front suspension control accumulator assembly (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
- Inspect the rear suspension control accumulator assembly (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
- LUBRICATE PROPELLER SHAFT AND TIGHTEN BOLTS
- Lubricate the propeller shaft by referring to the lubrication chart. Before pumping in grease, wipe off any mud and dust on the grease fitting.GREASE GRADE REFERENCE

When replacing a spider bearing, be sure that the grease fitting hole is facing the direction shown in the illustration.
