Calif. Models

  1. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Insert voltmeter test leads into EGR solenoid valve electrical connector with positive lead touching Black/White wire connector, negative lead touching Brown/White wire connector.
  2. Increase engine speed to 1500 RPM, then slowly decrease engine speed. Current should flow to circuit at 1000-1100 RPM.
  3. Slowly increase engine speed and record speed at which current stops flowing to circuit. The difference between recorded engine speeds should be 50-120 RPM. If not, replace engine speed switch.
