Main Relay

  1. Turn ignition on. Check for relay clicking sound when ignition is turned on. Main relay is located behind left strut tower near the firewall.
  2. If no operating sound is heard, apply battery voltage and ground to the 2-pronged connector. See Fig 1 . Using ohmmeter, check that no continuity exists between terminals "A" and "B" or "C" and "D" with no voltage. Check that continuity exists between terminals "A" and "B" or "C" and "D" with voltage applied. Replace relay if reading is incorrect.
