Fuel Pump Relay

  1. Crank engine and listen for operation of fuel pump relay. Remove fuel pump relay from engine compartment relay block. Using DVOM, measure resistance between fuel pump relay terminals "C" and "D". See Fig 1 . Resistance should be 40-120 ohms. Measure resistance between fuel pump relay terminals "C" and "A", and between terminals "C" and "B". Resistance should be greater than 10,000 ohms.
  2. Connect 12 volts to fuel pump relay terminals "C" and "D". Using DVOM, check continuity between fuel pump relay terminals "A" and "B". Continuity should exist. If specifications are not as specified, replace fuel pump relay.
