Fuel Pump Removal/Installation: Removal

  1. Remove the fuel tank. See FUEL TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION  .
  2. Clean the area around the fuel pump mounting flange.
  3. Using the special tool, remove the fuel tank sending unit assembly locking retainer ring.

    CAUTION:
    • The fuel pump must be handled carefully to avoid damage to the float arm and filter.
  4. Remove the fuel pump assembly.
  5. Remove and discard the fuel pump mounting gasket.
