System Testing: STARION

  1. Start the engine and let run at idle until it reaches operating temperature. Remove Green stripe hose from injector mixer and connect the vacuum pump to hose end.
  2. Disconnect the connector of solenoid valve and apply a vacuum of 9.8 in Hg. If unstable idling occurs or the engine stalls at the moment, EGR system is good.
  3. Reconnect connector of solenoid valve and apply a vacuum of 9.8 in Hg to Green stripe hose from injector mixer. Engine should remain unaffected. If unstable idling occurs, solenoid valve must be replaced.
