- Raise vehicle to comfortable working height.
NOTE:
To ease installation, lightly wipe outside of fuel tank inlet connector with plain water.
- Position filler pipe into wheel opening with top of pipe within body panel opening.
- Install fuel filler pipe into fuel tank opening.

NOTE:
Ensure that the EVAP vent solenoid pipe is installed in position on the filler pipe bracket.
- Loosely install filler pipe lower bracket attachment screw but do not tighten.
- Lower vehicle and install filler pipe upper bracket attachment screw. Tighten fuel fill pipe-to-body (upper) to 2.5 N.m (22 in-lbs). See Figure
.
- Install rubber closeout grommet to body and filler pipe.
- Install fuel cap.
- Raise vehicle to comfortable working height.
NOTE:
Ensure that the fuel pipe connecting hose is installed until it touches the fuel tank body. The hose clamp should be located within 6 mm (1/4 in.) of the end of the connecting hose.
- Tighten hose clamp on filler pipe to fuel tank connecting hose. Tighten fuel fill neck-to-fuel tank clamp to 5 N.m (44 in-lbs).

- Connect EVAP canister vent pipe at quick connect to canister vent hose.
- Connect recirculation line (5/16") quick connection.

- Tighten lower attachment screw on filler pipe to underbody. Tighten fuel fill pipe-to-body (lower) to 13 N.m (9.5 ft-lbs).
- Connect the harness connector to EVAP vent solenoid.
- Install wheelhouse inner liner to wheel opening.
- Connect negative battery cable. Tighten Battery Terminal Bolts to 17 N.m (13 ft-lbs).
