Removal & Installation: Generator: Removal
- Disconnect battery negative cable.
- Remove accessory belt.
- Raise and support vehicle on a hoist.
- Remove right wheel
- Remove right wheel well splash shield.
- Disconnect the field wires from generator.
- Disconnect fusible link wire using the Generator Output Stud Wrench (SA9401C) to hold the generator output (B+) stud from rotating.
- Remove lower and upper generator attachment bolts.
- Remove generator through the wheel well opening behind the strut.
NOTE:
Failure to hold stud when loosening the lock nut may crack the plastic insulator and cause generator to fail.
