Crankshaft Position Sensor (2AZ-FE): Replacement
NOTE:
When disconnecting the battery terminal, initialize the following system after the terminal is reconnected.

- DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
- REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT (See FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT (2AZ-FE)
)
- SST 09249-63010
- REMOVE GENERATOR ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
- Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
- Remove the connector clamp.
- Remove wire harness from the wire harness clamp bracket.
- Remove the wire harness clamp.
- Remove the bolt, then crankshaft position sensor.
- INSTALL CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
- Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the crankshaft position sensor.
- Install the crankshaft position sensor with the bolt.
- Torque: 9.0 N.m (90 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf)
NOTE: Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or jammed when installing. - Install the wire harness clamp.
- Install the connector clamp.
- Connect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
- Confirm that the wire harness of the crankshaft position sensor is secured to the wire harness clamp bracket through the back of the rib of the timing chain cover.
- INSTALL GENERATOR ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
- INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT (See FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT (2AZ-FE)
)
- SST 09249-63010
- CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
- Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
- CHECK FOR ENGINE OIL LEAKAGE
- INSTALL FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH (See REPLACEMENT )
