Ignition Coil And Spark Plug: Removal

  1. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER 
    1. First, lift up the rear of the No. 2 cylinder head cover to disengage the 2 fittings shown in the illustration.

    2. Next, lift the front of the No. 2 cylinder head cover to disengage the 2 fittings shown in the illustration. Then remove the No. 2 cylinder head cover.
      NOTE:
      • Ensure that the rubber grommets remain attached to the No. 2 cylinder head cover.
      • If any grommets are attached to the bolts, move them to the No. 2 cylinder head cover.

  2. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.

    2. Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors.
    3. Remove the 4 bolts and 4 ignition coils.
  3. REMOVE SPARK PLUG 
    1. Remove the 4 spark plugs.
