Adjustment & Inspection: Dashpot
Warm up engine to normal operating temperature and check that idle speed is correct. Under no load condition, turn the throttle lever by hand and increase engine speed until end of dashpot is off throttle cam. Gradually return throttle lever and read engine RPM when throttle cam contacts end of dash pot. If engine is not within 2800 3400 RPM, loosen lock nut of dashpot and turn dashpot until this specification is obtained. After adjustment, tighten lock nut securely. Race engine and make sure idle returns correctly to idle speed as throttle is released.
