No Load Test

  1. Remove starter. Connect ammeter in series with starter motor and 12-volt battery. Connect voltmeter in parallel with battery and observe readings. See appropriate NO LOAD TEST SPECIFICATIONS table.
    NO LOAD TEST SPECIFICATIONS (EXCEPT XT & XT6)

    Starter Rotation 4000 RPM
    Current Draw 90 Amps
    Voltage 11 Volts
    NO LOAD TEST SPECIFICATIONS (XT & XT6)

    Application Specification
    Starter Rotation
    A/T 2900 RPM
    M/T 3000 RPM
    Current Draw 90 Amps
    Voltage 11 Volts
  2. Starter should rotate at 4000 RPM on DL, GL, GL-10 and RX with current draw less than 90 amps at 11 volts. On XT/XT6, starter should rotate at 2900 RPM for A/T, 3000 for M/T with current draw less than 90 amps at 11 volts.
