Check Accelerator Pedal Sensor Area (Method With Circuit Tester)

  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Disconnect the ECM connector. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DOTC)>ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)>REMOVAL .
  3. Attach the ST between ECM and the engine wiring harness and the bulkhead harness, Ref. to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (H4DOTC)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>PREPARATION TOOL>HOW TO USE CHECK BOARD .

    SPECIAL TOOL: 

    CHECK BOARD (18460AA150)

  4. Connect the battery ground terminal, Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  5. Turn to IG ON.
  6. Measure the voltage between ECM connector terminals.

    Accelerator pedal sensor Accelerator pedal Terminal No. Standard
    Main Not depressed (full closed) 16 (+) - 61 (-) 0.4 - 1.0 V
    Depressed (full opened) 2.4 - 3.7 V
    Sub Not depressed (full closed) 42 (+) - 48 (-) 0.4 - 1.0 V
    Depressed (full opened) 2.4 - 3.7 V
  7. After inspection, restore the vehicle to its original state.
