Airbag Control Module: Installation

CAUTION:
  • Refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" before handling the airbag system components. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  • Do not disassemble the airbag control module.
  • If the airbag control module is deformed or if there is any trace of water on the module, replace the airbag control module with a new one.
  • Do not drop the airbag control module.
  • After removal, keep the airbag control module on a dry, clean surface away from moisture, heat and dust.
  1. Before installation, inspect the following items and replace any faulty part with a new part.
    • Control module is deformed.
    • Control module connector is damaged.
  2. Using new bolts and nuts, install the airbag control module.

    Tightening torque: 

    25 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.4 ft-lb)

  3. Install the duct console front and the duct console center.
  4. Install the tray center LWR and the cover center side.
  5. Remove the center information display assembly and the ornament panel mid passenger.
  6. Install the cover assembly front and the console box assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    Console box: 6.5 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.8 ft-lb)

  7. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
    NOTE: After connecting the battery sensor terminal, place the select lever in the "P" position.
  8. When the airbag control module is replaced, perform [Rezeroing] in the occupant detection system. Ref. to AIRBAG (DIAGNOSTICS)>REZERO .
