Visual Inspection

Visually inspect following component condition or operation:

• Electrical wiring, looking for chafed, stretched, cut or pinched wires. Ensure electrical connectors fit tightly and are not corroded.
• Ensure vacuum hoses are properly routed and are not pinched or cut. See appropriate diagram in VACUUM DIAGRAMS article to verify routing and connections (if necessary).
• Inspect air induction system for vacuum leaks.
• Engine oil condition, level and leakage.
• Engine coolant condition, level and leakage.
• Fuel level and leakage.
• Automatic transmission condition, level and leakage.
• Air filter element clogging.
• Battery volage level, corrosion and terminal tightness.
• Drive belt tension and condition.
• Throttle cable play and chaffing.
• Fuses blown.
• Auxiliary engine components for looseness and installation.
• MIL operation.
• Engine oil pressure warning light operation.
• Engine temperature gauge operation.
• Fuel level gauge operation.
• Tachometer operation, if equipped.
• Exhaust system for leaks.
