Oxygen Sensor

  1. Warm engine to operating temperature. Connect voltmeter to appropriate check connector terminal (positive lead to Ox and negative to E).
  2. Operate engine at 2500 RPM for 90 seconds. Voltmeter needle should fluctuate 8 times or more in 10 seconds between 0 and 7 volts. If it does, sensor is okay. If not recheck system for too rich or too lean (vacuum leak) condition or replace oxygen sensor.
