Cranking Test
- Connect a voltmeter and ammeter. See Fig 1. Disconnect ignition coil secondary wire from distributor and ground it. Turn ignition switch to "START" position.
- Check cranking voltage and current draw. Voltage should be no less than 8.0 volts.
- Current draw should be less than 350 amps. Cranking speed should be about 400 RPM.
