Coolant Sensor
- With engine cold, disconnect coolant sensor connector. Measure resistance across sensor terminals. Resistance should be greater than 1000 ohms. Start engine. Warm engine to operating temperature. Turn ignition off. Resistance of sensor should now be 200-400 ohms. If sensor resistance is not as specified, replace sensor.
- Connect voltmeter across sensor harness terminals. Turn ignition on. Voltage should measure about 5 volts. If voltage is not about 5 volts, refer to CODE 6 chart in COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS article.
