Repair and Diagnosis: Electrical: Starter: Description

Integra models are equipped with a Nippondenso starter. See Figure. All starters are 4-brush, solenoid-actuated, gear-reduction type equipped with an overrunning clutch. The brush holder assembly retains brushes and springs in the starter housing. Models with manual transmissions use a starter relay and a clutch interlock switch. Models equipped with automatic transmissions use a starter relay and a neutral safety switch. The starter relay is mounted on engine compartment firewall.
