Legend models with either a Mitsuba or Nippondenso starter. See Figure and Figure . All starters are 4-brush, solenoid-actuated, gear-reduction type equipped with an overrunning clutch. The brush holder assembly retains brushes and springs in the starter housing. Manual transmission models use a starter relay and a clutch interlock switch. Automatic transmission models use a starter relay and a neutral safety switch. The starter relay is mounted on underdash fuse box.
