Shift Lever Position Switch: Integra

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove front console to access shift lever position switch located on right side of shift lever mechanism. Disconnect shift lever position switch 10-pin connector. Ensure shift lever is in "P" position.
  2. Loosen 2 shift lever position switch mounting bolts. Slowly slide switch toward rear of vehicle while checking for continuity between shift lever position switch 10-pin connector terminals No. 6 and 7 with shift lever in "P" position. See Figure . Continuity should be present.
  3. If continuity is not present, go to next step. If continuity is present, shift lever position switch is functioning properly. Tighten 2 shift lever position switch mounting bolts. Ensure vehicle starts with shift lever in "P" position.
  4. If continuity is not present, check shift lever detent and bracket for damage. If no damage is evident, replace faulty shift lever position switch.
