Temperature Gauge Test
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1991 Acura Legend and 1991 Acura Integra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Check for blown 7.5-amp fuse No. 23 (Integra) or 15-amp fuse No. 13 (Legend) in dash fuse box. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect Yellow/Green wire from sending unit. Ground sending unit wire using a jumper wire. Turn ignition on. Gauge needle should start moving toward "H" mark on gauge.
- Ensure to turn ignition off within 2 seconds or before gauge needle reaches "H" mark. Failure to turn ignition off before needle reaches "H" mark may damage temperature gauge.
- If temperature gauge needle does not move, check open circuit in Yellow or Yellow/Green wires. Replace temperature gauge if fuse and wiring are okay. If gauge is okay, check temperature sending unit.
