Pump Pressure Check

  1. Check fluid level and belt tension. Adjust as necessary. Disconnect outlet hose from pump. On Integra, install Pump Joint Adapter (07GAK-SE00110 ) on pump outlet. On Legend, install Pump Joint Adapter (07GAD-SE00112 ) on pump outlet.
  2. On all models, install Hose Joint Adapter (07GAK-SE00120 ) to outlet hose. Install Pressure Gauge Set (07406-0010000 ) between pump and hose joint adapters. Fully open shutoff and pressure control valves.
  3. Start engine and let idle. Turn steering wheel lock-to-lock several times until fluid is at operating temperature. Completely close shutoff valve.
CAUTION: DO NOT keep shutoff valve closed for more than 5 seconds, or pump could be damaged.
  4. Gradually close pressure control valve until pressure gauge needle stabilizes. Read pressure. Fully open shutoff valve. Pump pressure should be at least 1138-1280 psi (80-93 kg/cm2 ). Repair or replace pump if pressure is not within specification.
