Oil Temperature Switch

  1. Remove oil temperature switch. Switch is located on cylinder head at rear of engine, on passenger side. Suspend switch and a thermometer in a container of oil.
  2. Heat oil while monitoring temperature. Check for continuity between switch terminals at specified temperatures. See OIL TEMPERATURE SWITCH SPECIFICATIONS table. If switch does not operate as specified, replace it. If switch operates as specified, check relay, other components, and all related wiring. See RADIATOR FAN CONTROL MODULE & FAN CONTROL UNIT.
