Radiator Fan Control Sensor

  1. Sensor is threaded into lower radiator tank, on rear side. Remove sensor.
  2. Suspend switch and a thermometer in a container partially filled with coolant. Heat coolant while monitoring temperature. Measure sensor resistance temperatures specified. See TEMPERATURE SENSOR/SWITCH SPECIFICATIONS table.
  3. If continuity or resistance is not as specified, replace sensor or switch. If continuity or resistance is as specified, check relay and all related wiring. See RADIATOR FAN CONTROL MODULE & FAN CONTROL UNIT.

230°F (110°C) 489-541 Ohms
WARNING: DO NOT heat oil hotter than is necessary to test switch.
