Abs Pump

The ABS pump consists of an electric motor, filter, guide, piston rod and cylinder body. Guide is positioned offset to the center of the motor shaft. Rotation of motor and cylinder body provides the reciprocating motion to the piston rod. This pressurizes brake fluid which is fed to relief valve, accumulator and modulator.

As motor rotates and pressure in the accumulator exceeds a predetermined level, the pressure switch is turned on. Upon receiving this switching signal, the control unit stops motor relay operation. If accumulator pressure does not reach predetermined level after motor has run continuously for at least 2 minutes, the control unit stops motor operation and turns on ABS indicator light in instrument panel.
