Adjusting Ignition Timing
- Check ignition timing. See CHECKING IGNITION TIMING
. If Red mark and pointer are not aligned, adjust timing. See Figure

- Adjust ignition timing by turning adjusting screw on ignition timing adjuster. See Fig 1
. Remove control box cover. Using a 3/16" dr ill bit, drill out 2 rivets from adjuster. Remove cover.
- Turn adjusting screw counterclockwise to retard timing or clockwise to advance timing. After adjustment, install cover to ignition timing adjuster using new rivets. Remove jumper wire from ignition timing adjusting connector.
