Brush Inspection
NOTE:
To seat new brushes after installing them in their holders, slip a strip of #500 or #600 sandpaper, with grit side up, over commutator, and smoothly rotate armature. The contact surface of brushes will be sanded to same contour as commutator.
Measure brush length. If not within service limit, replace armature housing and brush holder assembly. See Fig 1 .
