Idle Speed

Idle speed is controlled by Idle Air Control (IAC) valve and is not adjustable. Throttle stop screw is preset at factory and sealed in position. See IDLE SPEED SPECIFICATIONS . When installing a new Idle Air Control (IAC) valve, turn ignition switch off and replace original with identical part.
Measure distance between tip of IAC valve pintle and valve mounting surface. If distance is greater than 1.1" (28 mm), use finger pressure to slowly retract pintle.
