Engine Will Not Start
Ensure steps for spark and fuel testing in Basic Diagnostic Procedures in the BASIC TESTING article have been performed.
- Check ignition system. See the BASIC TESTING article.
- Check fuel pressure. See the BASIC TESTING article.
- Check fuel pump (PGM-FI) relay. See the BASIC TESTING article.
- Check CKP/TDC/CYP sensor (if equipped). See DTC P0335, P0336, P1336, P1337, P1361, P1362, P1366, P1367, P1381 or P1382 the TESTS W/CODES article.
- Check for contaminated fuel.
- Check A/T gear position signal. See procedures in the SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS article.
- Test PCM power and ground circuits. See MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT (MIL) in the TESTS W/CODES article.
- Other possible causes are engine compression, intake air system leakage, engine locked up, timing belt, starting system, overheating and battery. Engine will not start if PCM has been replaced and immobilizer code has not been rewritten to it using a Honda PGM Tester.
