Lateral Acceleration Sensor Inspection

NOTE:
  • Do not damage or drop the sensor as it is sensitive.
  • Do not use an impact wrench.
  • For an accurate reading, the vehicle must be level.
  1. Remove the center console panel.
  2. Remove the lateral acceleration sensor (A) from the left lower side with the connector connected.

  3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
  4. Measure the voltage between the lateral acceleration sensor 3P connector terminal No. 2 and body ground.
    • When the connector side is level, the voltage is about 2.5 V.
    • When the connector side is facing up, the voltage is about 3.5 V.
    • When the connector side is facing down, the voltage is about 1.5 V.

  5. If the voltage is not as specified, replace the lateral acceleration sensor.
  6. After replacing the lateral acceleration sensor, do the neutral position memorization. See Neutral Position Memorization  .
