Maintenance Reminder Unit Input
- Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
Remove lower left instrument panel cover. Maintenance reminder unit is connected to back of lower instrument panel cover. With ignition switch in OFF position, disconnect maintenance reminder unit 5-pin "B" connector.
- Check for bent, corroded, loose or disconnected terminals in connector. Test each circuit of maintenance reminder unit connector for continuity or voltage as indicated. See Fig 1
. Repair connectors as necessary and recheck system. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
. If all maintenance reminder input tests are okay, replace instrument cluster printed circuit board.
