Lateral Acceleration Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION: Do not damage or drop the sensor as it is sensitive.
CAUTION: Do not use an impact wrench. For accurate reading, the vehicle must be level.
  1. Remove the sensor canter console panel. Remove the lateral acceleration sensor from the left lower side with the connector connected. See Fig 1 .
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON. Measure the voltage between the lateral acceleration sensor 3P connector terminal No. 2 and body ground. See Fig 2 .
    • When the connector side is level, the voltage is about 2.5 V.
    • When the connector side is facing up, the voltage is about 3.5 V.
    • When the connector side is facing down, the voltage is about 1.5 V.
  3. If the voltage is not as specified, replace the lateral acceleration sensor. After replacing the lateral acceleration sensor, perform the neutral position memorization. See STEERING ANGLE SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION CHECK & MEMORIZING  under PROGRAMMING.
