Safety Indicator Input Test
- Remove the gauge assembly (see GAUGE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT ).
- Disconnect connector A (30P) and connector C (14P or 16P*) from the gauge assembly.
*: '04-'06 models
- Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
- If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals look OK, go to step 4.

- With the connectors still disconnected, make these input tests at the connectors.
- If the test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If the input test proves OK, go to step 5.
SAFETY INDICATOR INPUT TEST (CONNECTORS DISCONNECTED)Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if result is not obtained A1 WHT/GRN Under all conditions Check for continuity between the A1 terminal and the brake light failure sensor No. 4 (or No. 2(1)) terminal: There should be continuity. An open in the wire (1) '04-'06 models - Reconnect the connectors to the gauge assembly, turn the ignition switch ON (II) to keep the system awake and perform the following input tests at the appropriate connector.
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, the gauge internal circuit must be faulty.
