MICU (Common Test): Notes
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and remove the left kick panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREAS ).
- Disconnect under-dash fuse/relay box connectors E, H, P and Q.NOTE: All connector views are wire side of female terminals.
- Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
- If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals look OK, go to step 4.
- Reconnect the connectors, turn the ignition switch ON (II), and make these input tests at the connectors.
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 5.CAVITY AND TEST CONDITION CHART
Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained E9 BLK Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.5 V. - Poor ground (G601)
- An open in the wire
H9 Q4 P1 BRN Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.5 V. - Poor ground (G502)
- An open in the wire
- Disconnect gauge control module connectors A (12P) and B (24P).NOTE: All connector views are wire side of female terminals.
- Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
- If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary and recheck the system.
- If the terminals look OK, go to step 7.
- Reconnect the connectors, turn the ignition switch ON (II), and make these input tests at the connectors.
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, go to the appropriate input test.
- Key-in reminder, go to KEY-IN REMINDER .
- Parking brake reminder, go to PARKING BRAKE REMINDER .
- Lights-on reminder, do the combination switch control unit input test (see WIPER/WASHER SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH CONTROL UNIT) INPUT TEST ) and the combination light switch test (see COMBINATION LIGHT SWITCH TEST/REPLACEMENT ).
- Seat belt reminder, do the seat belt buckle switch test.CAVITY AND TEST CONDITION CHART
